Poems Galore! Term 3 Week 4

Kia Ora Whanau and Friendly Viewers!

Great effort was made by all students this week
to learn and recite a poem off by heart!
We had a recital in our class and students
chose the three best presenters.
Congratulations to Ngahuia Mamanu, Malachi Tipi and
Ocean Cross!
We are so proud of how you stood up in front of
the whole school and recited your poems
with expression and confidence!
Very well done all of you!

Ocean, Malachi and Ngahuia waiting for their turn.

Ngahuia was first with 'Alligator Pie'.

Malachi was next with 'My Pet Dinosaur'.

Ocean was third with his very own poem called 'Solar System'.

Mrs Golder gave out the senior awards. Well done Ngahuia!

Good job Malachi!

Great poem Ocean!

Congratulations to all the participants!
You made us laugh, you made us cry!
Your poems showed us your great skills with words!
Awesome!

Toitoi a-go-go! Term 3 Week 3

Kia Ora Whanau and Friendly Viewers!

Another great week of learning with Room 5!

The fabulous people from Price Waterhouse Cooper and Toitoi came to spend time reading with us this week!

This is issue number 16 of students' work from all over
New Zealand and we have submitted some
stories and illustrations too.
We will have to wait until the next issue to see
if any of our work has been published.

Nim made us laugh and he did really good explanations of words.

Yi was kind and patient and taught us some new words,

Mona helped us to understand some words that we hadn't had before.

Leigh helped us to use our voices for more expression.

Glenda told us more about Queen Elizabeth and her life
when we read about the Queen taking over KFC.

Alice used her lovely English accent to do a very
'Queenly' voice at the end of the story.

We really love to read!

Thank you Nim, Mona, Yi, Leigh, Glenda, and Alice for sharing
another awesome issue with us!
