Kia Ora Whanau and Friendly Blog Watchers!
This week the magnificent Ruapotaka Warriors Group
of Room 9 have been learning about how to
measure with cms and mms.
We had to find out the length of our hop, stretch and jump to see who has the longest, shortest and the same size.
We worked
with our group and took turns. We had to get a metre ruler and two 40cm rulers.
We used a string too. We had to hold it on the start line and then took it up
to where the ruler showed how far the person had gone.
Christina
did 165cms for the hop.
Aleki was
the longest for the hop at 200cms.
Willie was
the shortest for the hop at 87cms.
Kyronae did
105cms for the hop.
That was a really long hop Aleki! |
Super stretch Kyronae and Christina! |
Good jump Willie! |
Good balancing for that hop Christina! |
Talofa Mrs Honore, I am Valiant from Red Hill School. I like how all the students are learning new things I like your photograph of Willie.
ReplyDeleteHi Valiant...this is a collaborative comment from Rm 9, but we are currently in Rm 5. It was helpful doing the measuring because we learnt how to measure parts of our body, how big or small we were and we were wondering how big you are?
DeleteTalofa Room 9, my name is Haaki from Redhill School. Your explanation could be more.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment...what other information would you like to know? Maybe we could of told you about the other groups, perhaps we could of told you how we felt, perhaps we could of explained how they achieved their distances and we did the measuring over 2 lessons. Thank you for making us think about our posting!
