Kia Ora Whanau and Friendly Viewers!
We had a very special visitor this week as part
of the Duffy Books programme.
His name is Tim Tipene and he is an author of
children's books. But before he became
famous for that he had a life that was a lot like us.
He told us about his family and when he was
growing up. He told us about two of his teachers
who had made a difference in his life. One of them
was knick named Mrs Battleship and he has written
a book about her. She is still his friend today and
he goes to visit her every week.
He is a really good story teller! We all listened
really carefully and we laughed at the funny parts.
Tim used a lot of expression to share his story.
We really loved 'Hinemoa te Toa', the book that he
shared with us. It was exciting when she kept saying
'Bring It On!' to the taniwha and the bullies.
Then Tim presented the Duffy books to the best readers
for this week.
